Dominic had his 8th birthday party at Kids Kastle in Highland Village this past Saturday. Besides the humidity, and the fact that the pavillion we rented was double booked, everything went great! We ended up finding other picnic tables close to the playground area with a tree or two for shade.
Sunday morning, his actual birthday, he got to decide what we ate for breakfast which of course was donuts and sausage rolls. Nobody complained too much about that. I guess good taste runs in the family! After breakfast we decided to let him open his presents. Traditionally this is an after dinner event, but since he was getting a DS from mom and dad we knew he would want all day to play with it. When time came to open our present he was not surprised at all with what he received. I guess that can happen when you've been asking for the same thing since Halloween.

Well, I guess as Christian gets older I'll be privy to the "toy lingo" since I have no idea what a DS is... *sigh* Maybe I should be happy that I don't know what one is?
Oh, and that pic of him beaming over his cake - he's an EXACT combo of Jerry and James! And I'm not just talkin' looks, their personalities are spilling out of my computer monitor! SPOOKY!!! LOL!
Ohhh, I cannot believe Dom is eight! Happy birthday to Dominic and happy almost "birthing" day to you Catie.
