Dominic had his 8th birthday party at Kids Kastle in Highland Village this past Saturday. Besides the humidity, and the fact that the pavillion we rented was double booked, everything went great! We ended up finding other picnic tables close to the playground area with a tree or two for shade.
Sunday morning, his actual birthday, he got to decide what we ate for breakfast which of course was donuts and sausage rolls. Nobody complained too much about that. I guess good taste runs in the family! After breakfast we decided to let him open his presents. Traditionally this is an after dinner event, but since he was getting a DS from mom and dad we knew he would want all day to play with it. When time came to open our present he was not surprised at all with what he received. I guess that can happen when you've been asking for the same thing since Halloween.

Easter morning 2009
This year the Easter bunny put a little twist on things. After the boys found their eggs, he sent them on a treasure hunt to find their baskets. It all started at the breakfast table. On top of the Easter donuts was a note that said "Happy Easter Dominic and Ethan... Do you know what would go with these donuts? Some milk..." So then Dominic ran to the refrigerator. The hunt continued...
